The Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) is a full-text medical journal. The subscription includes JAMA as well as the following additional journals: Archives of Dermatology, Archives of Facial Plastic Surgery, Archives of General Psychiatry, Archives of Internal Medicine, Archives of Neurology, Archives of Opthalmology, Archives of Otolaryngology- Head & Neck Surgery, Archives of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, and Archives of Surgery.

Authorized Users: 
“Authorized Sites” means those geographic locations identified on Exhibit B [UMC, UMKC, MST, UMSL) of this Agreement.“Authorized Users” means: (i) Licensee; and (ii those registered students, faculty, staff and authorized on-site visitors of Licensee who are authorized to access Licensee’s Secured Network (as defined herein) at the Authorized Sites.
Walk-ins License: 
“Authorized Users” means: (i) Licensee; and (ii those registered students, faculty, staff and authorized on-site visitors of Licensee who are authorized to access Licensee’s Secured Network (as defined herein) at the Authorized Sites.
Proxy Server License: 
L. “Licensee’s Secured Network” means a network (whether a stand alone network or a virtual network within the Internet) maintained or controlled by Licensee that is accessible only to Authorized Users who are (i) at the Authorized Sites; and/or (ii) whose identity is authenticated by Licensee at the time of login. Any server or network that can be accessed by unauthorized users is not a Licensee Secured Network.
Remote Use License: 
L. “Licensee’s Secured Network” means a network (whether a stand alone network or a virtual network within the Internet) maintained or controlled by Licensee that is accessible only to Authorized Users who are (i) at the Authorized Sites; and/or (ii) whose identity is authenticated by Licensee at the time of login. Any server or network that can be accessed by unauthorized users is not a Licensee Secured Network.
InterLibrary Loan License: 
“Use” means the following non-commercial use of the Licensed Materials by Authorized Users only for the purpose identified on Exhibit A [JAMA, Archives of Dermatology, Archives of Facial Plastic Surgery, Archives of General Psychiatry, Archives of Internal Medicine, Archives of Neurology, Archives of Ophthalmology, Archives of Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery, Archives of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine, Archives of Surgery & American Medical News] and subject to Section 3 below: (i) viewing the content and data contained in the Licensed Materials on terminals, including personal digital assistants (PDA’s); (ii) printing a copy of the content and data obtained from searches of Licensed Material; (iii) downloading a copy of the content and data obtained from searches of Licensed Material; and (iv) if Licensee is designated as an academic institution on Exhibit A, (A) incorporating (without modification or amendment) individual articles from the Licensed Materials into electronic course packs, provided that Licensee shall delete all copies of any Licensed Materials retained in electronic coursepacks when no longer used for such purpose and in no event shall such Licensed Materials be retained for longer than one academic year; and (B) loaning or supplying to another library within the same country as Licensee, a copy of an individual document being part of the Licensed Materials by mail, fax or secure electronic transmission via the Internet or otherwise, for the purposes of research or private study and not for commercial use, provided that Licensee complies with Section 108 of the United States Copyright Law (”Limitations on exclusive rights, Reproduction by libraries and archives”) and clause 3 of the Guidelines for the Proviso of Subsection 108 (g)(2) prepared by National Commission on New Technological Uses of Copyrighted Works.
Electronic Reserves License:

Coursepacks License: 
In the event that Authorized Users desire to incorporate any licensed Materials into a printed course pack or other reproduction or republication, Licensee may direct permission requests to: Copyright Clearance Center at www.copyright.com.

Prohibited Use: 
Authorized Users may access or use the Licensed Materials only via Licensee’s Secured Network.Authorized Users shall not (i) make any copies of the Licensed Materials (except as may be incidental to downloading permitted pursuant to the definition of “Use” set forth in Section 1 of this Agreement); (ii) transfer, sublicense, disclose, display, perform, release, distribute (via electronic mail or any other means), or sell the Licensed Materials (iii) prepare derivative works or incorporate the Licensed Materials, in whole or in part, in any other work or system; (iv) reverse engineer, decompile or modify the Licensed Materials, in whole or in part; (v) use or authorize use of the Licensed Materials in any database or other compilation (except as may be othewise provided for the incorporation of articles into electronic course packs, if Licensee is an academic institution) (vi) create a database or compilation containing the Licensed Materials, or otherwise store any Licensed materials in any retrieval system (except as may be otherwise provided for the incorporation of articles into electronic course packs, if Licensee is an academic institution), (vii) use any robot, spider or other automatic devise, to monitor, upload, download or copy the Licensed Materials in whole or in part; or (viii) allow any use or access to the Licensed Materials by any third party individual, entity, organization or government agency (other than Authorized Users) for any purpose.
