Cmpany of Biologists provides electronic access to journals Development, Journal of Cell Science and the Journal of Experimental Biology.

"Authorized Users" are defined as faculty, staff, students, and authorised users at terminals located in the library facilities that include the walk-in public in the campuses belonging to the Licensee. Authorized users may also access through a proxy server which uses an authorized IP address and authenticates authorized users coming from IP addresses outside those listed in the following campuses belonging to the Licensee as set out in [Participants].

Authorised Users may retrieve, display, download and print out copies of individual articles or other individual items from the online journals, but shall be limited to the normal restrictions of copyright.

Sharing of online subscriptions with unauthorized users is not allowed. Use via open proxies and other non-authenticated proxy servers is strictly prohibited. The online journals may not be used for any fee-for-service, systematic supply or distribution or the journals in any form to anyone or any similar commercial activity.

Licensee may include copies (hardcopy or downloaded) of items from the online form of Publications (i) in anthologies (coursepacks) in print or digital form to the Authorized Users for their use in connection with classroom instruction and/or (ii) in reserves (print or digital) set up by Licensee's libraries for access by Authorized Users in connection with specific courses offered by Licensee. Copies of items in digital form which are included in online coursepacks or reserves will be deleted by Licensee after end of the semester in which the related course concludes.

Licensee may include copies (hardcopy or downloaded) of items from the online form of Publications (i) in anthologies (coursepacks) in print or digital form to the Authorized Users for their use in connection with classroom instruction and/or (ii) in reserves (print or digital) set up by Licensee's libraries for access by Authorized Users in connection with specific courses offered by Licensee. The online journals may not be used for any fee-for-service, systematic supply or distribution or the journals in any form to anyone or any similar commercial activity. Subject to the limitations of copyright law, the Licensee is permitted to supply to the authorised user of another library (whether by post, fax or secure intermediate electronic transmission, using Ariel or its equivalent, whereby the electronic file is deleted immediately after printing), for the purposes of research or private study, a single paper copy of an electronic original of an individual article.
