The ISI Web of Science database provides an integrated research environment with flexibility and functionality that permits simultaneous multidisciplinary searching for articles from over 8,000 international academic journals in the sciences, social sciences, and the arts and humanities. It is a combined database for the Science Citation Index, the Social Sciences Citation Index, and the Arts & Humanities Citation Index. As a result, this database offers desktop access to cited reference searching, the unique ISI feature that enables users to navigate forward, backward, and through the literature to uncover relevant research and its influence on the worldwide research community.
